 2007 Kazlų Rūda municipality has registered  173 individual enterprises, 118 closed joint-stock companies, 3 cooperative companies, one state company. The majority is formed by small and medium business enterprises. Best developed activities are: primary timber processing, products made of wood, production of furnace and their fuses, general construction of buildings, freightage of loads, wholesale and retail trade, and services.

UAB ‘Girių Bizonas’ – one of the largest companies of Kazlų Rūda municipality and Baltic States. Its principal activity is production of chipboards and furniture. Quite a few production is exported abroad.

UAB ‘Jūrės Medis’ is one of the biggest glulam manufacturers in Baltic States. Manufactures glued laminated timber load-bearing straight or curved beams, single or double pitched beams, arches, frames, trusses. All products are manufactured according to typical and special projects. Timber structures are made from Lithuanian and Siberian timber species spruce, pine and larch. The lamellas are bonded with phenol-resorcinol and melamine adhesives. There are 3 visual quality classes:  industrial, standard and extra . UAB „Bioprojektas“  specialises in the designing of housing, public destination, economic activity struktures ang boiler- houses. This closed joint-stock company performs desinging works throughout Lithuania, whereas projects are implemented with the application of most sophisticated computing, designing and drawing software programs. www.bioprojektas.lt

UAB „Lamiga“ - produces high quality melamine film and melamine faced chipboards for the  Lithuanian and other countries furniture producers. Company’s main activity – production of melamine films (MF) and melamine faced boards (MFB). All products conformed with the EU quality and environmental requirements. Only materials achieving emission class E1 are used in the production of MF. Melamine faced boards are produced according the standard ĮST 101. www.lamiga.lt

T. Lelešienė individual enterprise - production of meat products, wholesale and retail trade of products. Meat processing technology uses ancient Lithuanian recipes of meat products and good equipment. Meat products contain no preservatives.

UAB „Medonos mėsa“ – production of meat products: Cold-smoked meat products,  Hot-smoked meat products. Deliciously smelling smoked using special wood smoke in the country-style smokehouse. Meat products contain no preservatives.

V. Kanevičius’ enterprise ‘Komprema’ fixes compressors and trades in their parts. It also imports new ones and is engaged in their selling.

G. Mocevičius’ firm ‘Ginalas’ is a wholesale and retail trade leader in Kazlų Rūda municipality. It trades in forest and garden tools as well as in tools for professionals. www.ginalas.lt

UAB ‘Vip’. It is a Lithuanian-Danish joint venture. It is engaged in production of soft goods. All the production is exported to Denmark.

UAB „Šamoto centras“ –  wholesale and retail trade of building material. It sales chamotte products, high-alumina products, insulating products, monolithic products and cordierite products. The company sales also saggars type ceramic shields and channel system bricks. Company is a  official representative of PCO Žarow S.A (Poland) in Lithuania, Letland, Estland. www.samotocentras.lt

These companies are the largest operating companies that annually pay most of the taxes to the budget of municipality. Kazlų Rūda municipality is located in strategically significant place, in that the motorway Via Baltica and a railway cross its territory, nearby there are Lithuanian-Polish and Lithuanian-Kaliningrad District frontiers.

There are available land surfaces in the municipal territory that are good for constructions, trade, and services. Kazlų Rūda municipality has budgeted for the support of small and medium business as well as for sponsorship of investment and small projects. The municipality hopes to raise more investments for renovation of  private and public buildings and construction of wastewater cleaning equipment.
